Dead Funny? Page 2

It might be tasteless and it might offend but that's just the way it is.

My point was that, unless i missed the point, there was no need to offended. If offense is yummy ketchup then that gag was tomato soup.

I guess with this kind of subject matter this sketch is always, without question, going to offend. Comedy is so subjective. For example, a few years back I was at a writers meeting at the Beeb where this twat - sorry, fellow scribe - thought it was fair game to write anything satirical about everything and anything except the Queen Mother. Everyone has different values and I suppose what it all comes down to is our own levels of acceptance.

Laughing out loud while I agree DEAD FUNNY is dead funny it is not original apart from the reference to that poor tragic welsh town. This joke has been done in varied form as a visual sketch on t.v and audible sketch on the radio, so while not being original you have made it current and thus enjoyable so thank you.

Hi thank you all for commenting. Interesting such a brief gag garnered so many worthwhile comments.
There's sweet FA original about the sketch - it's just yet another variation on the reveal/sneakeroo trick - withhold the key info till the end. I actually thought of it years ago and recent events brought it back, hence the Bridgend reference. Poor taste and it works without it - maybe better 'cause you don't offend and it doesn't fudge the gag. Still, I'm going with it in one form or another 'cause the general response is positive, especially by my dodgy standards.
Thank you again.
