BBC Transgender Comedy Writing Competition...FFS!! Page 20

Interesting to re-read some of the cynical attitudes to this great opportunity.

I was just thinking that when I saw the news earlier this week!

Never look a gift opportunity in the mouth.

Yeah, saw the BBC Writersroom blog earlier and thought about how much this competition put people's nose out of joint!

I was tempted to write something for the same reason as Elliot (in that trans people don't have anything in the way of shows for them), but thought I'd be terrible at it, not being trans and not knowing a trans person closely enough to badger them about it.

Here's his blog for Writersroom.

Filming has begun!

At the pub at the end of my street.

I just finished being a consultant on the scripts as a trans person and the project lead from Trans Comedy who managed this project in the beginning.

I am so looking forward to the finished article.

And yes I remember all the negative posts about this initially. Many of them just a sad excuse to show off thier knob gag writing skills.

Claire there is nothing wrong with a knob gag. Euphemism can be a great tool.

Be ready for some more, Claire...

BTW British Comedy Forum it's all right to say Transgender sitcom filming but you don't tell us which one.

Paul why are you boosting your inane post?

Quiet time, I'm afraid.

I started of with a load of knob gags but when I realised it was about trans gender I changed them all to fanny gags...

Another inane post but...

Wouldn't a hole gag be the opposite to a knob gag?

No.

I bow to your knowledge on euphemisms.

Is that a euphemism?
