Save the pennies, buy a farm....

Old Irish saying and sort of connected to point of this thread...

I'm trying to save / make some extra cash at the moment and wondered what lengths others go to to save a few quid.

Right now I'm -

Keeping an eye on when all my contracts end - Broadband, Sky, phone, Eenergy etc and will be switching like a mad 'un when the time comes to better offers.

Have discovered lost Tesco vouchers and coupons online that I'm able to print off - nice.

Have boxed up a load of CD's and DVD's to go off to Magpie

Old ink cartridges site that collect them for cash

Ebaying stuff

I considered doing online surveys but, just no.

Also just saved about £50 switching car breakdown cover

Joined one of those cashback sites.

Feel dizzy now.

Love e-baying.
Gain cash.
Lose clutter.
Got it worked so I take the photo on my iPad and put it straight on eBay - couple of clicks.

I love the de-cluttering aspect too. Though eBay seems less vibrant there days as other (free) ways to sell have popped up like facebook etc.

just so long as you don't buy the farm

I think my pennies would be better spent buying the farmer.

Car boot sale? I've never been to one but some folk seem to make money at them. Unfortunately I think you have to be up at the crack of dawn to get a good stall

Certainly not so much fun as it used to be. :( eBay have got too big for their boots.

Is (or used to be when I did them many years ago) great fun but exhausting, and now it seems people want things for pennies.

MoneySavingExpert.com has loads of tips, advice and offers. It's worth signing up to their email service. They have a forum where people share their money saving tips.

True.
In the early days I bought some brilliant paintings.

I love car boot sales! Well, shopping at them, not selling. The sellers always look like they want to kill themselves from boredom.

I wouldn't mind going to a car boot sale but why are they so bleedin' early?

What can be achieved at 6am that can't at 2pm?

Not been to one for ages but do like a browse around but way too early for me to fancy doing my own one.

They do have afternoon boot sales in my area.
