Earthquake! Page 2

I'm in Skegness, Lincolnshire, right on the coast. My monitor nearly fell over and my chair rocked from side to side. It almost looked to me like I was watching through a locked off camera whilst the house moved around me.

I live right next to a gas tower and my second thought, after it got worse and it clearly wasn't a heavy lorry, is that bugger had blown up or something, not really sure how gas towers work but don't really think logical at this time in the morning when your house moves as if Godzilla is jogging past your front door.

Laughing out loud
I have to admit I was in the kitchen getting a drink and I ran and almost dived into my living room cos I thought the boiler was gonna blow or something.

Like you say it's hard to be logical and rational at such times!

Actually, according to BBC 5 Live it has been felt in London. I must have missed it or assumed it was just another heavy lorry going by.

I didn't feel a thing here, either.
No doubt by 9:00am tomorrow lots of people will have felt this earthquake that haven't yet. Rolling eyes

woh, scary stuff guys. I've only heard one earthquake my entire life besides mine blasting but that does not count.

Not to sound alarmist, but IT'S THE RAPTURE!!!!

Right, so I've been talking to lots of people, we've got confirmations from Newcastle, Hull, South Lincolnshire, Norwich, Sheffield, Bedford, Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester and Leicester. Rumour has it 5.0 on the richter scale, not that I know what that means!

Anyway, it's nice to chat with the neighbours at 1am!

Even better than that, my mate went to toilet at the same time, so I think we've found our epicentre!

Add York to that list.

And Bradford.

I didn't feel it - how dissapointing...how come the North gets all the fun!!

Hm. If you live "right next" to it, I have a funny feeling that the only thing going through your head after an explosion, would be shards of metal.

I didn't feel anything either. I feel so left out. :(

Nope, no earthquakes down here in the sunny South West.

Mind you we could be hit by one registering 7.5 on the Richter scale, and it’d be June before someone looked up from their flagon of napalm death zider and say ‘did you just feel something ?’ Huh?

You mean the earth didn't move for you Charley :O

I didn't hear it, I had my headphones on and was playing Guitar Hero at the time, but my wife stormed downstairs all bleary-eyed and shouted "Do you FUCKING MIND not banging about playing that game!!" I didn't have time to protest because she was already storming back upstairs muttering obscenities to herself. Turns out the wardrobe doors were clattering about.

Scary!

I hope you've been smiling very smugly this morning. :D

It's been felt all the way from Lincoln to London. I felt it, wondered what was happening, then went back to sleep.
