Started watching 'The Sweeney' which we'd recorded but we've given up as sound is not so bad we don't know what they're saying.

Oh, that's a pity as I have recorded it too and was really looking forward to it.
Sure it's not the accents? Or is there all that crap "mood" music which drowns everyone out.

You'll be OK. It's the Jocks not understanding plain English!
I don't normally have a problem with any accent but the sound seemed a bit muffled. Let me know what you think, Herc. Reminded me of the bad sound of that thing last year - 'Jamaica Inn'.
Just watched The Problem Of Thor Bridge.
Jeremy Brett, my favourite Holmes.
Just watched a prog about Queen Victoria's 9 kids. And they gave her a big house too!
Queen Victoria was a total arse and a nasty mother. Watched a programme (or was it a series?) a while back.
Nevermind the buzzcocks. Think it is three or four years old but first time it's been on free TV here I think.

He "spent a staggering £100,000 on various treatments".
It's a poor state of affairs when the NHS can't afford to do that sort of thing.
'Wolf Hall'. Looks like a lavish production.
Crimewatch. There really are some nasty bastards about.
Arrested Development. A bit like Seinfeld,I really can't figure out why people find it funny. I'm just waiting for Red dwarf to vome on.
It might be something you have to watch from the start because the humour is based mostly on call-backs to previous situations. Although it has lots (and lots) of depth. It takes several viewings of one episode and whole series to spot all of the jokes throughout.
It's not the most hilarious show ever, but the writing, acting and production is something to real admire, if you like that kind of stuff.
The same can be said for Arrested Development too
The Avengers - black and white with Diana Rigg. On every night at 8 on True Entertainment (61 on Freeview).
The gorgeous Isobel Black is in it. I remember having a crush on her when I was about 10 years old.
