There was a rumour circulating that Schnorbitz version one exploded during a visit to a primary school. I'm pretty sure that's an Internet urban legend though. I've seen Mr Winters' plaque in Golders Green Crematorium, he's commemorated there along with Marc Bolan and Keith Moon.

Actually, you've hit the nail on the head, he does rather resemble the tangerine-hued relic botherer. Does anyone recall the Radio Times shoot where he was photographed naked apart from a strategically placed teddy bear?
Back to the film: it also reminded me of the Steve Coogan/Paul Raymond biopic, The Look Of Love.
