"You Are What You Is" - Frank Zappa
The general pop/rock - music thread Page 75
Ah double albums, missed that earlier in the thread. I would go for:
Chicago - CTA
Chicago - Chicago VII
Harry Chapin - Dance Band on the Titanic
Marillion - Brave
Marillion - Marbles
Fleetwood Mac - Tusk
In fact I would rate all of the above as equal to, or better than, any of the artist's single albums. (Chicago's II and III are also good, but do have at least one side each that could be removed without trauma).
London Calling - The Clash

D'oh!
(By the way, I love the studio part of Untitled)
Ok, I replace Wheels Of Fire with

Should have been in my list anyway
Double albums are a thing of the 70s (like live albums). Not that easy to list a lot of more recent ones (apart from Marilion)
Here are some newer double albums (/CDs) I could think of:
Stadium Arcadium by RHCP
In Your Honour by Foo Fighters
Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence by Dream Theater
Psychedelic Pill by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Wowie Zowie! by Pavement
Needless to say they are in my collection.
A couple of music legends of the sixties haven't been too well recently.
All best wishes for a swift recovery to Gerry Marsden and Brian Poole.
Brian Poole and the Tremeloes - my God that takes me back.
Yes, speedy recovery.
Alvin Stardust aka Shane Fenton dies aged 72 - RIP.
"Coo Ca Choo"
Saw him as a blond Shane many, many years ago at a local dance hall.

One of my favourite Cream songs:

Oh shit! No! I thought Ginger would be the first to go.
Now to change the subject I'm beginning to turn into my Dad. I never wanted it to happen but....
There's a song being played all the time and I can't make any sense of the lyrics.
"Wanee wenar, wanee wenar on me.
Wanee wenar, wanee wenar on me."
Why dear boy the meaning is perfectly clear. In the first line the normally authoritative voice of the composer is submissive in reflection contemplating the fundamental form and function of a language relishing love whilst regretting his own mortality; whilst in the second line he is asking a prostitute to piss on him.
Thank you Mr Hay. That explains everything.
A question on Pointless just was to identify groups and their eponymously titled first album from the surnames of the group members.
One group was Jagger, Richards, Jones, Wyman, Watts.
A student, OK only about 20 years old, said . . . .
The Bee Gees.
Now I can hear Mick Jagger singing "Massachusetts"...I won't get that out of my head
Imagining Jagger sing songs that don't suit him can be really amusing (mind you, he made some crappy performances as a solo artist!). I did that once before. I imagined him and Christina Aguilera singing that song out of Dirty Dancing, "The Time Of My Life". Hilarious!

I watched that too. As Richard said that would be Gibb, Gibb and Gibb.

Were you on something at the time?
