NO THANKS!!

On a more warm note, there's a great-looking new book out about the series:

I just finished watching the 1st episode and even as I was at my giddiest and most receptive self, the episode just did not make me even crack an honest smile.

Granville has been stricken from his own personality and erroneously given the task of becoming Albert Arkwright and failed miserably in the way.

The jokes are not good and the gags are just not well timed. Quite predictable.

If there's something to learn from SOAH is the way in how not to write and try to capitalise on a hit show with one of sub-par quality.

Mind you one of my favourite shows was Open All Hours and when in 2013 the Christmas special came on I was one of those who had very high hopes... well, I'm not in the least excited this is what it is.

Sort of reminded me of the crashed sitcom The Wright Way was.

Albert Arkwright

I had absolutely no idea that was his first name. Was this mentioned in the original show? If so, in which episode?

Painful to watch from start to finish.

It is mentioned a number of times.

And also listed in the best guide to the show on the whole internet. Ahem. https://www.comedy.co.uk/tv/open_all_hours/

Both Del Boy and Granville had an Uncle Albert!

Shades of the "royal bodyguard" all over!
