It is the growing economic imbalance in our society, Possessions are never enough when other had more. Anthropologists say that the happiest societies are nomadic hunter gatherers where no-one owns anything.

Yes, and it's interesting to note that very often the well-to-do take up hunter-gatherer type pursuits, like hunting, shooting and fishing.

A program filmed in a mental health unit. Really interesting and also heartbreaking to see people so upset because they aren't allowed to go home.

Too deep for me - I'm gonna watch the Bake Off final.

Just when you thought mainstream television couldn't get any shittier . . .

Dorien's 'Like a Virgin' performance on Birds of a feather.

Hah! Are you enjoying?

I've always thought she was incredibly sexy - although a bit of an old Tom.

Dad's Army on BBC2.

'All is Lost'. Hope it's not going to be boring. Robert Redford has certainly aged.

Just watched ep. 2 of 24 Hours in Police Custody (C4, Mondays). Best thing in the schedules right now imo. (Am probably jinxing ep. 3 tomorrow by writing this.)

Done in a classy, non-sensationalist, unfrenzied way - lots of lovely character detail and finely observed moments.

Won't get around to watching tomorrow's one though till this time next week probably. Watch everything on catch-up these days, and always seem to have a backlog.

Guy Martin's Spitfire.

I love Guy Martin and I love spitfires.

What more can I say.
