Pointless - Thick or what? Page 3

I switch over every time they have a sports question. Which is too f**king often.

Currently watching a load of "Pointless" episodes on Sky+, it's great each episode takes about 10 minutes tops as I cut out all the faff and get straight to the questions.

Oh, I enjoy the repartee between them - Richard has quite a sharp mind when it comes to ripostes.

Nah, not for me, got bored of it a long time ago, when it started to become the "Richard and Xander Show" with the occasional question thrown in.

Richard think quite highly of himself, doesn't he?

Ah, there's probably the reason for the difference, as I have only recently started watching - previously watched The Chase, but then ITV in their usual contempt for all and sundry decided to move it around the schedules and I got f**ked off with that.

I can only go on what my daughter says, but she follows his blog and he follows hers. And sometimes comments. Which is quite non-celeb behaviour as she is just a student.

What do you do if it's the final round, potty mouth?

Oooer.........

I just miss it! All the interest just dies for me the second they choose sport. So dull.

About 7'.

That's the worst part because if you've got no idea about the subject you're screwed.

Been quite a few of those lately.

How to do well on Pointless-know stuff.

I'm revolting! (go on fill yer boots)

One of tonight's questions was (I think it was in the head to head) "Jazz Standards" and two of the "hard" answers were:-

"Jitterbug Waltz"

and

"Polka Dots And Moonbeams"

There is no way that they are jazz standards!

Great show but there is inconsistency in the way they take the answers. One show I saw, a young woman was cruelly denied a win by mispronouncing a name! Then lately I saw an episode where someone was let off for leaving out an answer's first name.

I like the celebs shows where Osman sits there bolt faced in a fairy costume or something. An amusing double act if a bit too smug and show offy - 'can you tell we're from Oxbridge, folks?'

I really enjoy Pointless, but get rather fed up with the first round which seems to drag somewhat. Why on earth do we have to be 'reminded' of the returning contestants' careers and hobbies? Surely it would be better to trim the show down to 30 minutes? I do enjoy the banter between 'Xander and Richard though; a geekess's paradise really. As for Richard's other show, 'Two Tribes', it's OK, but without his Cambridge chum he sounds somewhat stilted.
