Pointless - Thick or what?

Tonight's prog. had a question of "Work in Progress" where you had to identify famous partly built buildings/landmarks via photographs

One couple reckoned the plain and square Washington Monument (about a quarter built) was the 14th century Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Apart from the shape and plainness - Hello! Photograph?

Did Alexander laugh in their faces?

There was def. a look on the faces of him and Richard of WTF..........

I love the occasional sideways "how thick are you" looks from the pair of them :)

Ha, yes.

I'm still waiting for someone to pick Katie Price as their final subject. It's been there for years I think.

As if to confirm their stupidity they thought that this.....................

............looking like this...........................

............the CN Tower in Toronto, was the Empire State Building..........

but decided that they would go for the one they were sure of, which was the "Leaning Tower of Pisa" looking like this:-

Complete with 11th century crane.

Wouldn't that be made of Pizza boxes?

My favourite terrible answer was on a celebrity edition of The Weakest Link with Anne Robinson a few years ago.

Anne asked about the Christmas Tree that is put up in Trafalgar Square in London. She asked which country gives the tree to the UK each year for all their help and support during World War 2.

And they gave the answer "Germany".

I can't remember the celebrities name.

Oh, Badge's post has disappeared :( ..........? Hey-Ho, I'll post my response anyway:-

Did I say aghast looks? No, and I think he was being kind in saying what he did, and I maintain that they did wonder about the sanity of the pair.

Yes, when people know nothing about the subject they give stupid answers and everyone has a laugh, but in this instance they had two easy options of the Eiffel Tower or the London Eye, and (here I stand corrected) went for the "Empire State Building" instead. CN Tower = ESB? Also of course mistaking the Washington Monument for the Tower of Pisa.

Still a pair of twats in my opinion.

Sorry Hercules. I deleted my post because I thought it didn't really matter anyway so there was no point in me adding my tuppence ha'penny.

Always like a friendly josh Badge and your point was valid as they corrected my error. :)

I just watched an episode from last week where two teams in the head-to-head failed to identify any of the 5 Hitchcock movies by their initial letters.

Two blokes thought "NBN" was "Naughty But Nice" and the two women, despite identifying "P" as the one with the knife and Norman Bates, said "Pollyanna"...

Oh yes, I remember that one!
Laughing out loud
