I'm currently rewatching this. In Series 5 there are two appearances by an actor called Jeffrey Holland. Both hilarious...especially in the episode The Superstar where he plays the moronic showbiz wonderboy. I remember seeing him in a short scene in Dad's Army as well. I'd like to see him in more things.

Aaron has given you all the links - his most famous I suppose would be as the rookie camp comedian in Hi De Hi, which I can highly recommend, well all the ones with Simon Cadell in as far as I am concerned - I think it lost something when he was no longer the boss of the holiday camp.
Jeffrey Holland also did an excellent "Peter Sellers" in a remake of The Goon Show on radio, which also included Andrew Secombe playing his father's parts where he uncannily sounded so much like Harry.

Thank you both. Looks like he's an old "David Croft-veteran"...and David Croft liked to stick to well-tried personnel.
I will definitely check out these shows one day or another.
I love Dad's Army and IAHHM...but I'm not that fond of AYBS? (similar style, but a huge quality downslide after a few series imo)...so I'm not sure weather I should start with Hi-De-Hi or YRM'L.
Where can I watch this is it on DVD?

Definitely Hi De Hi - I wasn't that fond of YRM'L personally but Hi De Hi, like Dad's Army I can watch again and again.

If you're referring to It Ain't Half Hot Mum, the complete DVD box set is pretty darn cheap: https://www.comedy.co.uk/tv/it_aint_half_hot_mum/buy/2026/it_aint_half_hot_mum_complete_collection_dvd/
I don't think it will ever be repeated on TV because of political correctness,

So stupid...ok, they make jokes about Indians etc but most of all they make jokes of the Brits.
On the other hand why is it ok for a Corporal Jones to talk about "Fuzziewuzzies"...?

Good point.
Because, as with anything BBC-related, it's complete double-standards as to whatever suits them at the current time.
Did anyone see the 'where-are-they-now' documentary on the cast, [on telly yonks ago] where they tracked down Don Estelle to a shiney shopping mall, and unfortunately he was reduced to a real saddo has-been, plink-plonking 'Whispering Grass' on the joanna to disinterested passers=by?

This needs a bigger discussion somewhere. Or maybe not because the moment people have a direct conversation about it - and with positive intentions - it could all backfire. The thought might be that applying rationality to it could bring back IAHHM and similar. What could actually happen is that all Croft/Perry/Lloyd things, the Carry Ons and even Hancock and Round The Horne are ditched forever more. I have some sympathy with the BBC on this matter. They are damned if they do and damned if they don't. It is ITV as well, of course. And given the outputs in this century - the representation of the disabled particularly springs to mind - I'd say the phrase "double standards" is absolutely right.
Oddly enough, IAHHM was the one programme from that "stable" I just didn't "get" at the time. I would welcome the opportunity to reappraise it. But I have no inclination to buy it on DVD. A repeat on TV would, therefore, suit me.
I have the box set and love it.

He was "the Don" on Linda Smith's Brief History of Timewasting on Radio 4.
Singers busk, comedians do stand-up. Nothing to be ashamed of...
Probably more sad he teamed up with Cyril Smith to do Trail of the Lonesome Pine.
