Still some good stuff these days, even if not much. Father Ted is still for me a great sitcom.

Liked Little Britain's use of Andy and Lou, from my work experiences it was actually quite fair, and helpful, and funny.

Hated it's racism, classism (ha ha all single mums are thick, and criminal), and mental health phobia.

Oddly loved Monkey Dust, which was deeply offensive, but never smug about it.

I suppsoe it's smug, superior attitudes I can't abide. Little Britain is very smug, Love They Neighbour wasn't.

Hated it's racism

Where was that?

Ping Pong, blacked up fat woman?

Slitty eyed prosthetics? When did that shit become ironic, and acceptable?

That's not racism. That's just not particularly funny, and (arguably) poor taste.

It is racist, and it is offensive, I think it's acceptable purely because I don't believe in censorship. But jeez how bad would a racist statement have to be, before it offended you in anyway?

It is racist.

Incorrect. Racism is "The theory that distinctive human characteristics and abilities are determined by race", or "Belief in the superiority of a particular race..." (OED). I see no sufficient evidence of either in the example which you gave. How can recreating factual characteristics be racism?

Impossible. This question is null and void.

Try setting up a ''music of white origin awards'' and see how many people quote you in reverse Aaron.

I have been a victim of mindless racism , and I am guilty of institutionalised racsism , due to where I grew up and the influences thereof.

It is hard to not be a casual racist , but it can be achieved.

Racism, whether little britain or others does not become acceptable just because some find it funny .

I actually think there is a deliberate attemtpt by lucas and walliams to see just how far they can get with it.

lastly, I dont think they are funny , and I dont think they have any future with the show, im willing to bet there will be no more new little britain .

A point I have made many times myself.

I have just heard David Walliams on r2, talking about the series they are about to start filming in the u.s , apparently they are going to alter some of the characters for the u.s audience... I wonder which ones.

Er the assumption that Thais are crooked, vorcaious and perverted?

Am I seriously getting into a discussion that a white guy, in fake Thai make up, joking about Thais being servile, amoral, and perverted is some how not racist?

Aaron I'm intrigued, have you ever been the victim of prejudice ever?

I'm not quite sure how you got any of that at all from the character, much less extrapolated it to be a comment on an entire nation. Tell me, does Bottom suggest that all British men are disgusting, greasy, sickening creatures who live in hovels? (No sarky comments please people.) Does Married ... With Children suggest that every American family are as pathetic as the Bundys?

Depends on your definition of prejudice exactly. Racism, yes.

Racism as a white person? The great silent crime.

Also are we going down that slightly sordid that the Anglo white male community, who own 3 quarters of the worlds wealth, and whose life expectancy are only affected by their own indulgence, are victims because are rude about them occasionally?

Hate crime, and equal ops polcies exist because, if your in a minority, things are tougher, when the majority turn against you. i think the 90% white Anglo populace in this country can stand the other 10% laughing at them over Bottom.

But luckily for you equal ops legislation will support you when the roles are reversed. I know I had them work for me as a white victim of prejudice. Heck I even know one coleague who had Yaroba banned form the work place, as racist to White and Asian colleagues.

Racism dn't cry from ignorance (does that count as a pun?)

Yes, indeed it is.

Well I'm not. Are you?

That's not the point though, is it? Racism is racism. It's not suddenly a-OK because the 'target' is the majority.

If you got to the bottom of what I wrote, you'll say i responded to that.

Racial tolerance, is all about respect. Oddly enough I've had way more hassles in mainly female workplaces. Including some getting compassionate leave because their boyfriend dumped them, and getting harsher nastier jobs (it was care you wouldn't want to know)

I like all jokes providing they're funny, and providing they're not their for idiot finger pointing. Yuk yuk he's different.

It's a respect thing. And yes I was the victim of racism as a white guy, it was pretty vile, but you know thats what equal ops policies are there for

Ohh, it's women now is it? YOU SEXIST BASTARD!

;)
