What job would you most like?

What job would you most like to have?

I'd like to work in a childcare centre but am not really able due to a medical condition.

I'd also like to be a travel agent because I like talking about/giving advice on travel to people. No medical reason why I can't do this a job but I don't have the natural skills to do it as a job.

I Love To be a extra on TV shows and on films.

I've said it before, I really don't get the idea that having a career is better than not needing one.

Eh?

Do you mean ideally you'd just be rich and not work.

I never knew what I wanted to do in work at 18 or 22. After that age, I went through about six different wishes. Each lasted for some years as "the ideal" although I stuck with what I had. But what I discovered was that after a while the disadvantages become apparent just as they do when being in an actual job
so there is no feeling that any great alternative was missed. And social changes totally ruin some work.

That isn't to say I wouldn't choose something different if I had another chance now. My advice to those who want little change and maximum stability is to find something that doesn't primarily involve humans. That would have been my early advice to myself had I known then what I know about the world today.

I don't really know why but I wouldn't mind working in Disney World, Florida when I retire. They have a lot of old bastards working there from all over the world. 12 months in the sun being nice to people.

Sounds a bit Jimmy Savile-ish to me.

Not necessarily rich, but yes, I can't see how having a career is better than having the freedom to do as you please.

I think people mean if they were rich enough to do what they wanted they wouldn't just sit in a pile of gold and watch telly on a 100 inch screen, they'd need something to do.

And they'd turn something they loved or a hobby into a career. Or something.

Sitting in a pile of gold and watching TV...

Fair enough; but then why not just ask, what would you most like to do, given the chance? Also, a lot of people might prefer to do things like lie beside a pool, or live alone in a cave; not really careers.
