From the Oxford Dictionary, ironically:

NEPOTISM
noun
[mass noun]

The practice among those with power or influence of favouring relatives or friends, especially by giving them jobs: his years in office were marked by corruption and nepotism.

Game, set and match! Laughing out loud

Some sources do specify family-favouritism though, and that is definitely what it meant when coined: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nepotism

This stuff is all more interesting than a bunch of old jokes, to be honest. Rolling eyes

From the Oxbridge Dictionary, ironically:

NEPOTISM
noun
[mass noun]

Using Mater, Pater, Uncle Bunty or Grandma Aggie.

If Bunty is your uncle she already has a few issues to deal with.
