I've thrown better away.
They're called throw away lines for a reason sometimes.
There all pretty good for what they are, neutral, short jokes.
That hoover one is ancient. The rest look like the kind of jokes a two year old would write during a period of severe concussion. Mark Watson's is probably the funniest out of that lot but it's still pretty weak and formulaic, especially for him.
I've written 1000's of jokes, and even the poor ones would be better than those ten. I can't believe that those were the best jokes from the fringe.
Booking a venue in Edinburgh is the easiest thing in the world to do.

I'm not claiming to be a comedian, just that the standard of those jokes is rather poor.

Any of us can say glibly that a certain joke is ancient. Proves nothing. I hadn't heard it before.

Comedian means writer of comedy too not just performer.

"Glibly", I like that word. That's the good thing about comedy, it's subjective. All I've done is given my opinion, as you have. I like how people hear a joke from the likes of Tim Vine and take it for granted that he's the first person to use it.
I Googled it couldn't find any earlier usage.

Then it MUST be his then if it's not on Google. I didn't set out to be argumentative, just my opinion that the jokes are not very good.

An established joke from a former writer. Maybe he stole it off Tim eh?
Is that sarcasm?
I suppose we can always go down the "two people can come up with the same joke" theory next, which of course is more than plausible for short gags/one liners.
I think there is more to the best joke at the fringe fun list than that. It's not a lollipop competition
I liked Alfie Moore's 'Dairy Intolerant' gag that was in The Independent's selection on Saturday.
