Electrical Store Recommendations Page 3

I'm bumping this thread again. On the look out for TVs, PVRs, Sound systems either multi speaker or soundbars.

I'm looking for, if anyone has any recommendations...

50" (or bigger!) TV with little to no smart features and 1080p.

Good solid Freeview PVR that doesn't hang or freeze or f**k me off in anyway.

And I don't know about sound, but in the region of £150. Something good but not too fancy.

Geek power go!

When you find them try John Lewis. Usually matches cheapest price and TVs include a free 5 yr warranty (and that's worth a bob or two.)

Thanks for the tip, OR.

Maplins seems quite geeky.

I bought a 'mobile mouse' from Maplins the other day (just a small mouse you can carry around with you). I asked if it was just for use with mobiles, and the man managed not to laugh at me for being so thick.
So they're alright in my book.

Expensive though.

Sonos sound bar. Sony Bravia.

Only IF they stock them and they don't match t'internet prices!

I wish! Bit on the expensive side at the mo though!

Check eBay for Bravia second user? Bet some good deals, prob not on sound bar but it is the bollocks :)

Whatever you think about, go online and check the reviews.

I'm a Panny man myself.

Filth!

Sony slag !

Damn... Outed :(

I like Panasonic, I'm just put off by their usual lack of features, like more than 2 HDMI sockets.

LG have nice screens but their software is sluggish and makes me angry.

Ideally I'd pick Sony because of my PlayStation and the integration between the two but as mentioned earlier, a little out my price range at the moment. And I'm not sure it would sit well with me having one from eBay, id be scared the screen was at the end of its life.

I think you would be fine. Just gave the mother in law a smaller HD Bravia 100mz 1080 blah blah etc. really good! But second hand they sell for very little on ebay. New models come out and the perfectly great old ones value dip big time on eBay - seemingly, from the small bit of research I did. Samsung are very well worth a look too!
