The advice on sitcoms seems to be to contact producers directly with a script, but where on earth do you get hold of the producer's contact details?! Every internet link just seems to bring me back to this site. The only option seems to be to pay for an upgrade account on IMBD - has anyone ever done this, and can you actually obtain producers contact details through it? Thanks in hope of some decent advice!

Or make a note of the production company in the end credits of a sitcom, visit their website and contact the producer from there, asking if they would take a peek at your script.

But the chances of an unsolicited script getting read and produced, you might as well play the lottery and hope to win the million pounds to film it yourself.
Make friends enter contests, write to producers and writers you like or attached to stuff you like and be nice. Go to conferences enter every open access thing going, maybe have a crack at open access BBC stuff.
Becoming a known name that people want to hear from is as important, if not more so than having a decent script.

I don't know if every body does it the same but every time Google had a special doodle on it's front page I searched for "You look nice today" and through in a few "Your the best search engine ever". Before long Google was my BSEF (best serach engine for ever) and we are going out for a pizza and ten pin bowling next weekend.
I don't know if it will help me ever get comedy produced, but I'm happy with Google.
BTW stay away from Google - there mine. You can have Bing.
