Nice idea for a sitcom however I think the plot lines need to be spot on as I think that is where the biggest scope for comedy is. Bad idea but how about someone whose will said they want to be buried with their cat. So the undertakers end up hunting around the house trying to catch the cat. Then trying to put a cat in the coffin which doesn't want to be in a coffin. Then it starts scratching on the box at the funeral, people faint hilarity ensues etc. And we find out at the end that By cat he meant Cathrine his dead wife who he wanted to be buried beside.

I am reminded of the Irish langauge comedy called C.U Burn, which was about a turf fired crematorium. It was a bit hit and miss but had some good ideas. Like offering discounts for people who die in house fires as they are already half cremated.

Not a bad idea at all. There has to be some scope in the whole business of misunderstood instructions...

I see there is a series on TV called "William and Mary" which seems to be an undertaker's family sitcom. So you may have been pipped.

It has Martin Clunes in the lead role.

Was on a while ago. Is it coming back then?

"William and Mary" is on currently Marc.

Can't remember which channel. It may be a channel only on Freesat or maybe only on Freeview.

Ah ok.

Unless Radio 4 take that much notice of ITV5 and it's not a complete rip off, I think you're okay to sub it.

True, those valve heads don't even see the light of day. I'd rethink the whole approach to this before even contemplating submitting it anywhere.

I like the idea, and I could see Adrian Edmondson playing Nigel. (It's radio - I should say I could hear him!)
