Once upon a time, not too long ago, we took a day out in Manchester
We all fall down, there's not enough hours in our day
Played a bit of football, fell in to the union, barged our way to the toilet
With the Kung Fu king, there's not enough hours in our day

We're not interested in your feckin' diary, Lofty! ;)

Enjoyed that yesterday in "More Dangerous Songs": http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6isXNVdguI8

The Damned - Damned,Damned,Damned

Fantastic album and anyone who doesn't know it should check it out. The first ever British Punk album but it's not all shouty noise. There's some really varied stuff on it.

A programme about The Kinks on a Spanish radio channel. "You've really got me" must be the best pop song ever.

Maybe the first true "punk" record. A fantastic riff.

Walk away Renee by Left Banke on Bob Harris's Radio 2 show.

Do I still figure in your life by Honeybus.

"To think that I once took you for my wife".

Rising sun - Medicine Head on Johnnie Walker's Sounds of the 70s Radio 2.

Johnnie played the Abba original but I've just watched the video by Sweet Dreams featuring blacked-up blonde Polly Brown.

Honey, honey.

I'm not scared by the Pet Shop Boys.

One of my favourite ever songs including the Patsy Kensit cover version.

Great pop song, gorgeous Polly but some of the blokes in the band and the audience look really weird.

80s Swedish rockers Alien had a massive European hit with that one (a Bee Gees-penned song, lest we forget); saw them last year on a bill that also included Graham Bonnet, curiously enough:

The Devil Hits Back - Atomic Rooster.

An album apparently compiled by Vincent Crane's wife after he died in 1989.

Bought it for 5 euros when I was in Slovenia last week.

I was a bit disappointed when I realised it was mainly live tracks because I'd never got any of their stuff before. However it is a great CD by one of the first Heavy Metal acts.

I don't really like the doors

But I love this album

Jim sounds like an angry, drunken old bastard bawling into the mic!
