Is this too left-field?

Hello Gents,
I approached a production company with an idea for a sitcom that involves a man dressed up as a Pink Bear who can't talk.

Bizarrely, they liked the idea and we professionally put together a 5 min clip. It looks good but In terms of the content what do you guys reckon, does it have any mainstream potential or is it too weird?

Cheers

Great on the the comission well done, but this is way too much A-B man dresses up as bear women pretend to be disturbed.

I meanthat's it.

Well done for getting this made but I just don't see where the funny is?

Sorry.

I enjoyed that, David and Gurpal. And the pink bear does talk in the end, once he's taken his head off. It would make a good part of a sitcom episode, in which our hero dresses up for a bet, or some other reason, but you would hardly have a whole series based on that!

I watched a bit more and I think it's overloaded and over complex.

Also the VO and taking the mask off just kills the mood completely.

It's a great idea but I think you need to make it a "one point change" e.g. it's a straight forward series of dates where the only change is the date is a voiceless pink bear.

The gay guy felt like a much more natural ending.

Usually like your stuff, but this is to full of stuff.

Sooty's jealous, he wants to be the only bear on the forum.
I loved the gay joke as well.

Cheers for the feedback guys,

The idea is meant to be that when pink bear has his head on there are no thoughts, when his head is off (in certain situation) you hear his thoughts and when he is with the two other main characters(his mum and his mate) he interacts with them using full speech. The comedy will derive from their interactions and having to put up with a man who genuinely believes he is a pink bear (not sure why he thinks this yet: head injury, mental illness, we're still deciding)

I don't think the vid conveys our idea that well. I will see what Gurpal thinks but I think we'll need to make another vid that better showcases our idea.

you can call me gay, you can call me a joke, do you have to call me both?

thats an incredibly complex idea for 5 minutes. Like I say one point change, he's got pink bear syndrome.

It made me think of a sort of ambulatory misery bear?

Hey sootyj how did your date with Clare Balding go?

That was Clare Balding, who got to be the lady?

I liked the surrealness, but I kind of agree with teh others that it seems to go off on a few too many tangents. I think the various poses of the bear (dancing, perving etc) could really benefit from some snappy editing to make the joke much quicker, i.e one minute he is seated, bamm, he's girating on a chair, then back to seated, then with hundreds of pints in front of him, etc. The human head and bread bit I don't think added too much.
I recognised most of the locations btw!! I live just opposite the church garden! f**king hipster central.
