Sorry Rupert you complain if nobody replies and yet you complain if I do. You may notice I make a lot of posts. And yes I am keen to put my opinion across. I like to share the wisdom.

It might be worth bearing in mind if you think about it - that if what you do is surreal comedy then by it's very definition a huge percentage of people won't find it funny.

I'm not moaning. You're one of the few people I would prefer not to reply, as your criticism is gratingly negative, with no positive points at all. If you like sharing wisdom, share it. I haven't seen any evidence of wisdom coming from you.

This gets my vote for most pathetic thread ever...ever. Unless you're twelve year old adolescent. It's still pretty piss poor then mind.

? Who even are you?

I'm a primary school teacher and uniquely qualified to judge this thread . Unless you're a primary school teacher as we'll and that would be upsetting. More for your employers than anyone else.

Really? You clearly didn't look closely enough.

Did you not see the positive for example about a large majority of people by definition not finding your poetry funny or just not think about it. You seemed happy with my advice on your showcase post for example and I see you now call it nonsense poetry rather than 'surrealist' following my advice?

You mean 4 or 5 people on a niche sub-forum?

Pretentious, toi?

Well, when you get some, let the world know..

..if you can still see it from up on your pedestal.

PS What happened to your pop-up sycophants? They've gone quiet.

Maybe you should try putting something in, instead of just sucking ?

Personally, I don't think you're up to it, but I'm sure that 'a large majority of people' will disagree.

Up to what mate. The point I was making was that given the nature of 'surreal' comedy it is not going to appeal to the mainstream. That's kind of the point of it... So of course it isn't going to appeal to the majority. This isn't a difficult concept. So Rupert shouldn't feel disheartened it doesn't. Again not complicated. What do you mean by sucking and not putting something in?

I have given Rupert some advice yes.

Critique this entire forum... I think it's awful and pointless, because I rarely get replies from anyone when I create threads..

discuss

well , you have plenty of replies now . but this thread is critique , where we voice our opinions on each others work. some people like it , some hate it , and marc just hates everyone lol .but to be honest , you have had loads of replies and you are still not happy , plus your attitude is hardly commendable considering people are trying to help you and give you advice .as they say if you can't handle the heat....

I'm not interested in getting replies on a thread about not getting replies. I don't get much critique on a lot of things on here.

In what way is that positive? Yes I take things on board, but it would be quite nice to say at least one positive thing, which you don't.

Rupert what have you posted other than insulting poems about me?

Genuine question as I don't know what you want feedback on.

To be fair Rupert you might be better being specific about the feedback you are looking for in critique - what are your aspirations for your work etc. don't answer if you don't want to but what is your main occupation? I am guessing you are passionate about writing and want to move it up from a hobby/amateur level towards the pro?

I'm at college and I have a number of contacts around the world who I am soon to collaborate with in music, producing music alongside people and collaborating with vocalists, plus writing poetry, short stories and I am also looking at scripts.

Fair play and best of luck with projects. Like I say your style of comedy is very niche and this forum is no different to the real world. In fact a lot more mainstream than in college obviously where the driving force is individualism - in art courses certainly which I imagine is what you are doing in some for. So joe public coming across your material here will be at odds a little in offering advice based critique. So outline what it is you want from fellow posters in this forum and give them a bit of a hand. The main thing to remember that your passion should see you through the slings and arrows etc. like I say best of luck :)

apologies confused with slarnder

so what should I be reading?

I'll be honest I've got no sense of rhythmn so I don't usually get poems

but I didn't like them

they seemed to be forcing some awkward rhymes, to make an unpleasant point and no real punchline

sorry its the kinda mistake I make with poems myself
