You sound just life Grand Moff Tarkin before the Death Star explodes.
Quote: Nogget @ 30th May 2014, 10:58 AM BSTMy point is that people are given powerful vehicles and roads upon which speeding is all too easy, and then they're fined for speeding; wouldn't it be safer to make it more difficult to speed?
No, limiting the acceleration on cars would make driving more dangerous. It would also make overtaking any slower vehicle impossible, thus causing endless jams and people risking their lives to get past other cars.
You bring up the Fiesta going 70 MPH, how would you fair if you were hit with a juggernaut doing 50 MPH? Or a bulldozer going 30MPH?
If speeding was the number cause of road deaths - or even road traffic accidents - then you might have a point. As it is, you're needlessly panicking over nothing - strange how that happens on here a lot.
Quote: sootyj @ 30th May 2014, 9:08 AM BSTnb with the recent college shootings, there's some pretty selective reporting. The guy killed 6 people, the first 3 were his male flat mates.
Yep, as always after a tragedy, the special interests groups are first to swoop in like hungry vultures to make political capital and push agendas.
Apparently, Shooty McBlueballs was another example of 'rape culture' - that's right, all men in the Western world ever are responsible for some lone lunatic going on a murder rampage. Shame on us.
