British Comedy Guide

Blog help

Hi there folks,

Just wondering if anyone here keeps a blog or website and could recommend a good company/host to use?

I write loads of comedy gig reviews among other things and wanted to get it all online to share - the only problem is I've got no idea where to start! Been doing some digging and Wordpress seems popular but also looking at something like 1and1 http://website.1and1.co.uk as it seems to do all the hard work for you (and I'm by no means a techy expert!).

Would love to hear any tips from those in the know!

Cheers :)

I've used Blogspot and Wordpress in the last year or so. Wordpress is certainly the more professional looking of the two, so I would say go for that. Blogspot may be a little easier to use, but there appears to be less options and control over the design side of things.

That's really helpful - thanks! It sounds like Wordpress might be the way to go then. Basically, so long as it doesn't require coding knowledge or anything fancy then I should be fine.

Looking forward to getting started! Cheers.

You could try submitting pieces to Chortle.co.uk. You'll reach a larger audience, quickly.

I just make little notes on bits of paper and deliver them to my neighbours

I'm on Word Press.

It's my Dad's 1939 diary day by day (although I've got a bit behind!).

I'm almost certain you could type them all up and have them "go live" at a specified time. Don't quote me on that though!
