St Vincent.

This is some cool funky stuff:

Yeah, I've had that one in my head too since Tuesday's Jools. I like the Fargoeque way she says, "Ya", more pronounced than in the music vid, which is also pretty cool:

Musically reminds me of the Eurythmics, but with a 2014 spin/production sound/arrangement.

Check her out here too with Talking Heads guy David Byrne:

Ta! I always love a bit of David Byrne - got all the Talking Heads albums and saw them on their first UK tour too, supporting the Ramones at the Roundhouse. Don't know this collaboration, though I remember that striking album cover. David's very dominant vocally on this song. Do you know if that's the case with the rest of the album too, or if Annie gets more of a look-in on other tracks?

Not too great a surprise you were there too, as we crossed paths quite a few times around then. :)

It's a gig that features in a coffee table book about key gigs through the decades. (Bit of an irony when punk becomes glossy, expensive coffee table fare. Though I came across it in a Discount Book Shop.)

I remember spotting Captain Sensible in the crowd.

Have fond memories of it all. Pretty sure that Aussie punks The Saints were on the bill too - had their single at one time.

Chelsea - Urban Kids

I had their first 2 singles on Step Forward - Right to work was one but off hand I can't remember the other one. Both B-sides were good too.

I see they're playing at Guilfest this year so probably gigging a lot at the moment.

Lofty, did you listen to this? They remind me of The Fall, especially live. Love the video to this one too.

Other Fall fans here might find them interesting/appealing, like Chappers.
