on May the 17th we are launching a radio station
Firstly, a bit of background info which may help you understand our vision.
Myself (Phil) and my colleague (Bob) have previously operated an online radio station a number of years ago, the station ended after commitments meant that neither of us could put enough time in to manage the station and create quality content.
After some time away, we have decided that we can once again put in enough time to manage an online radio station but this time open up the spare airtime to other people instead of stretching ourselves thin.
The main ethos for the radio station (now called Formal Shark Radio) is to broadcast quality music and comedy and to make broadcasting accessible to people that would fit within our goals and ideals.
Not only have we ran an online station previously, but we have our own skill sets which will help push the station forward as a station and for the individual shows. These skills include professional website development, IT/Network administration, brand/marketing knowledge, which will give us the web platform needed for online radio, technical knowledge of how the systems work and also the experience of how to successfully market and brand the station and the shows that make it.
As for content creation, we can be totally flexible; live broadcasting, online downloads (i.e. podcast), micro sites all as part of your own show or encompassed within others.
If you think you would like to record a show best thing to do is create a podcast and send it over to us. Tell us as much info as possible for example if you want it live or prerecord, weekly or monthly etc. We then work out how to fit it into our project.
