Congratulations! Worth waiting up for, eh?
Thank you! Indeed!
Many congratulations to everyone shortlisted and longlisted. Disappointed not to have made the list. But this proves, if anything, I've taken my sitcom idea as far as I can. It got me on the BBC Writersroom books, so not a complete loss. And feedback from Declan and Simon was crucial in me achieving that.
Plus the last three scripts I've written have been dramas, so maybe that's saying something as well.
We've published our top 32.

(this doesn't mean we're 10 better than them, unfortunately).

Hello - The Other Children's Charity written above - I wrote a sitcom called that did someone enter with the same name sitcom? I only ask to know whether to have an 'isn't it a small world moment' - or a 'OMG I made the list moment' .......... thanks !
Congratulations to all the people who made the list.
Obviously disappointed that I didn't make it myself and am awaiting the feedback to see where I went wrong. It saddened me at first but then it has given me great determination to prove that I can do this next time round.
Good luck to all the finalists and runners-up and see you next year.

Looks like there may have been a mix up between "Sweet Charity" and "The other Childrens Charity" as they both appear to be written by the same person ?? I would guess that yours is in but they have got the wrong name by it ??
Apologies, The Other Children's Charity is by Bridget Burgoyne.
The Other Other Sweet Children's Charity didn't make the cut, I'm afraid.
Well done Bridget!
Well after my vino-induced ramblings the other night - what do you know? I go and make it onto the subs bench. Just the tonic.
And as a word of encouragement to others this effort first saw the light of day in the 1980s and has sat in a drawer for years with various polishes, rewrites and tweaking of characters. Maybe I'm getting something right at last.
Well played, Smudger - good stuff :-)
By the way, does silver feedback entail any more notes after the comp if you finish outside the 32, or is it just that first set prior to the deadline?
Cheers
Alan
