The Kinks - Predictable

Wave @ Gordon & Ben

Not one of their best though. Video better than the song which is a bit repetitive and *predictable*, which I'm sure is a deliberate joke by Ray.

Galaxie 500 - Tell Me

Lady Maddona by the Beatles. Just got 1 (27 number 1s - must be desperate!) from a charity shop. Where else? Apart from one track jumping (what happened about driving a steamroller over CDs and smearing jam on them?) it's good value for £1.99.

Just occurred to me listening to the hit singles one after the other how upbeat they all are - until I got to Hey Jude.

What about Eleanor Rigby, or Yesterday? Maybe ER didn't get to Number One, but surely Yesterday did? (Love the former, not keen on the latter.)

I got this is a charity shop for a pound recently. Only knew/have the first two albums, so this was a real treat.

Still sounds so fresh and contemporary, and you can hear their influence on new stuff too.

B52s are great. You always know what you're going to get with them.

Reminds me of the cover for this album.

"Desire" came out six years later - so the cover is probably a tribute of sorts as I expect Bob and John were good friends, having shared a lot of history (complete guess here, anybody know?)

Paolo Nutini - Iron Sky [Abbey Road Live Session]

Like Marvin Gaye crossed with Al Green with a dash of Portishead - though it doesn't reach the dizzy heights of those three artists, it's a valiant attempt.

Cry Me A River This is how it is done properly.

Flight of the Concords...

What the HELL do people see in this guff???

Boring tedious shite
