This is not specifically a comedy blog. However a current influence of mine once said that the way he crafts his humour is to simply write. Not write jokes as such, but to write about what's important to him and derive his jokes from what he has written.

I will use this blog to periodically discuss things that happen to me in the course of my comedy career. Such as how well I did on open mics and so forth, but beyond that I'm only going to pimp my events if I get a sizeable amount of followers. (Because why would I tell dead air that I'm performing somewhere?)

Good luck with the blog Nathanielle. I like your writing style which comes across as honest and engaging. I think there is scope to add a few funnies in though to make it more appealing.

Feel free to ignore me completely as I don't follow any specific blogs as a rule.

I thought this was a very obscure Robin Askew film. If you type "Robin Askew" into Google do you still get tilted results?

Paul: I tried it and I'm not sure what to think of the Google results.

He was just making a joke about the name of an early nineteen seventies comedy actor called Askew and the adjective 'askew' which means not quite straight.

It is a little confusing though, as the actor in the 'confession' series of early 70s comedy porn was in fact Robin Askwith.

No that's right, Askew is Michael Green's friend in the "Coarse" books (Coarse Acting, Coarse Sailing, Coarse Office Life). There was no naughty business, unfortunately.

It's an entertaining blog, you've got a pleasant style and some very interesting observations.
It's crying out for a little humour, it's a great way of generating material for your standup.

Not read those although I read gamesmanship or some such, which maybe similar. Made into a film with TerryThomas and Ian Carmichael.

Good luck with the blog meanwhile, blogs and diaries are not really my thing but a daily discipline of writing is a good idea. One I sadly never seem to follow.

I'll see what happens. Strangely enough one of the many things that spurred me on to returning to blogging is the number of times a convicted killer's Internet activity has been used in an investigation.

You're hoping writing about the mundanity of every day life will avert suspicion.

To be fair if you are going to kill someone you usually are pretty convicted. It's not normally a shilly shally situation - like purchasing a pair of new brogues for example.

Yeah, I enjoyed this too Sean, interesting and engaging, I could imagine it being good as a short film with a voiceover.

I've definitely thought about trying to get an online series of some sort going if I could get the resources together until a year or so down the road. Glad you enjoy it so far.
