You write something else!

We'll read the entries and decide on a top 32, which will get a bullet-point feedback when the results are announced, and a top 8, which we'll go into development with. We may have to put the announcement back because there were a huge number of Bronze entries which require feedback and there are only so many hours in a day. Hopefully we'll have the results at the end of April.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their entries. We know how much time and effort you put into them and we know there are some gems in there. We hope you had lots of fun writing them, we know we're going to have just as much fun reading them.

Okay it's up. It reformatted a little so that the scenes aren't starting on new pages but at least its legible and not in code. Hope that's okay!

I was getting an error 20 with PDF but I think I have it uploaded correctly now with a.fcf file. Could you confirm that it's ok. Thank you.

it because the windows version you're using isn't properly compatible with the final draft you're using.

If you run Final Draft as administrator though, you can save it fine.

I had the same problem. Smarmy

The Sitcom Mission would like to congratulate our students Gwen Cheeseman, Jen Cockburn, Aja Scanlon, Ella Vize, Joe Brand and James Alleyne whose scripts were developed through our City Academy workshops. They were not only responsible for 3 of the 4 scripts in the Sitcom Trials final, but of our 11 students who entered this year's Sitcom Trials all came in the top 14 of the peer review section out of 37 entries. We'd like to make special mention of Alan Zmud whose Becky The Squirrel won the peer review by a landslide.

If you'd like to follow in their footsteps, our new round of Level 1 and Level 2 classes is about to kick off.

Hi Simon. Can you elaborate on the differences between doing the 8 Wednesdays course and the 2 Saturdays one? Thanks.

I had the same question. Would also be interested in knowing whether you're planning to run the Level 2 course on Saturdays again this autumn/winter.

Hi Simon. Can you elaborate on the differences between doing the 8 Wednesdays course and the 2 Saturdays one? Thanks.

Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you. It's a busy time of year for us.

The two courses are essentially the same, so which you choose depends on whether you can make weekdays or not.

Advantages of the 8 week course: longer to develop your script. More homework/feedback. Longer interaction with fellow students.

Advantages of the 2 Saturdays: Good for those who can't do weekdays. Cheaper (and saves on travel, too).

Really you pays your money and takes your choice.

Dates for Level 1 are 16th April to 4th June (8 weeks)
14th and 21st June (2 Sats)
2nd July to 20th August (8 weeks)
17th Sept to 5th Nov (8 weeks)

Dates for Level 2 are 15th April to 3rd June (8 weeks)
10th May + 17th May (2 Sats)
17th June to 5th Aug (8 weeks)
16th Sept to 4th Nov) (8 weeks)

What happened to the script that arrived at midnight and 13 seconds?

We're strict about things like running times but we think it would be absurd to rule a potentially good script out just because it turned up very slightly late, so we've accepted it.

As usual there was a flurry of scripts on the last day. We hope this was because writers were rewriting until the last possible moment and not because they thought: 'It can't be the 31st yet, surely?.'
