It's you that read it wrong RC, in GB's comment about my description of Swiss war policy, he was merely pointing out that the fact that the Swiss reservists had their army weapons at home, increased the possibility of one going on the rampage. He wasn't advocating anything or challenging the issue of gun owners having weapons at home.

In all seriousness, when it comes to spree killing, the number one factor is how quickly the wounded can receive medical attention. The quicker they get it, the more chance of survival.
Because knife boy was stopped quickly and there was no further threat, the paramedics could get to the wounded that much quicker. Same with the Senator who was shot in Arizona, despite taking a bullet to the brain, she survived and even addressed Congress.
Knives are equally as dangerous as guns, we know this through thousands of years of bloody warfare before firearms were invented.
It's easier to take down a guy with a knife, then someone with a gun surely.

Yes and no. Obviously the guy with knife can't get you from distance, but then again, he doesn't need to reload and knives are freely available.
