Magicians & Hot Fuzz.... Page 2

How does it compare to Shaun of the Dead though?

Not quite as good, in my view. But Shaun sets the bar pretty high. Hot Fuzz is very entertaining though.

Totally agree with so many good quotes, it's great to see well made British films for once.

"You're a doctor, deal with it! - Yeah, motherf**ker!"

"You've got a mustache - I know!"

"If you wanna be a big cop in a small town, f**k off back to the model village."

"What have we got? - Two butchers and a f**kload of cuttlery."

I expect I'll wait for DVD or TV broadcast then. I would have felt pretty cheated had I paid to see Shaun of the Dead in the cinema, so if these aren't as good as that, I'm not going to waste what little money I have.

Just finally watching "Magicians" and it's quite enjoyable. I'd heard it had some crap reviews.

I think it's actually better than Shaun of the Dead because, I may be alone in this, I really don't see the appeal of Zombie films, serious or comedy.

Not seen Magicians but Hot Fuzz was a huge improvement on the overhyped Shaun.

:O

Better than Shaun?! :O

hay two films I've actually seen!.. I enjoyed both, Hot fuzz is a bit dull until the last twenty minets. Magicians, well seems a much small film in a lot of ways, gentle and more domestic though enjoyable.

Eh?

Ah, it's a warm bit of nostalgia, this thread. Remembering those innocent, carefree days when we all thought Magicians might be really good...

Eh?

..ok "minutes"....always looks wrong when it springs up in the spell checker.

Magicians was bloody awful.

It depends what you were expecting. I'd heard the bad reviews so wasn't expecting much and was pleasantly surprised.

I was expecting a comedy that was actually funny, and this definitely wasn't. And the story was terrible as well.

Same here.

I finally got around to watching this a couple of months ago and was pleasantly surprised. Yes, it's not a comedy classic, but it's not dreadful and would be a perfectly acceptable Sunday afternoon film, thought it had some funny moments in it and was enjoyable enough.
