Interest in JS recently with Sports Relief OFAH, so:-
Sitting Pretty (1992-1993)
His one failure where he wrote the lead (eventually) for a woman.
I remember it being quite good, but critics and the Beeb thought otherwise so it only ran for two series.
Diane Bull (died Christmas eve 1998 aged only 46 of cancer) played widow Annie and has to go and live on her family farm after discovering that her late husband wasn't as rich as he made out.
Had a passion for Shirley Bassey songs.
Just me then........... 
This thread has a somewhat misleading title. Shouldn't it be called: "Sitting Pretty - anyone remember?" ?

Fair do's - it's just that there was an interest in JS at the time.
So whatd'ya think of Sitting Pretty? Did you watch it? Can you remember it?

Unfortunately, I haven't seen it yet. I'm an OFAH-lover so you could call me a JS fan. I'll most probably check this one out in the future.

I remember thinking it was quite funny.
In fact I'm sure I mentioned it as my favourite JS show on a thread where I was pretending that I'd never seen Only Fools & Horses

I think you are right with "phenomenal", and it was quite funny - certainly not a laugh a minute.
