British Comedy Guide

Ben Elton Page 2

But even those two, were long drawn out and overplayed. Like Smith and Jones later series, and Ben Eltons later sketch shows, you hit a point where the budget is there, the time slot is there, and the good actors are but the magic is gone. You start doing middle aged man jokes, about kids today, and noisy pop, and no one listens to me et al.

Alot of good comics seem to become pretty good actors, or semi comedy actors. Paul Whitehouse, Russ Abbott, etc.

Wait.... Ben Elton is the moderator of the Other British Comedy forum?

pre Elton Blackadder sucked

WHAT HERESY IS THIS ??!!!!

Have to agree - the first series of Blackadder was seriously poo - Elton saved it from the comedy dumper.

Brian Blessed, couldn't some one catch him and lock him up in a cage. Then film him 24 hours a day, as Blessed TV, he only gets fed when he shouts,

"Gordon's alive,"

Everyone knows that Brian Blessed isn't real!

HO HO HO! I'M BRIAN BLESS-ED!

Laughing out loud

Laughing out loud I thought I had posted this in a different forum, went to check it in the morning and thought "oh I suppose Aaron really hates this Ben Elton fellow and deleted my post" but here it is.
I must say he did come off as a pompous and found it funny when he said at the beginning of the interview "I don't talk about my family" and then went on to talk about his family for the majority of the interview.
Sorry about the inaccuracies I really didn't know who he was until I saw the interview that night.
As for the interview you can watch it here: http://www.cbc.ca/thehour/video.php?id=1971
Along with Ricky Gervais interview: (wich should be available later today) I thought he was rather funny and polite. http://www.cbc.ca/thehour/video.php?id=1977

Yeah you did, but I moved it to the correct one. This one. ;)

Merci Aaaron.

Cuuurt!

I like this. 3 vowels for everyone.

I've already got three vowels. :(

Or do they just have to be next to each other? In which case, Aaaron is fine. Cool

Don't lose one, or that would be a.....vowel movement!

Arf arf!

*shakes head*

They have to be all together, and the same.
Like Soooty.

This would have been part of my religion, had I not gone off the idea. (Too much paperwork)

We should all put that on the next census! :O

Religion: The Magical Aura of Laura.

Get ourselves recognised as some weird cult! :D
