James Cary & Dave Cohen: Comedy Writing Courses Page 4

It's that time of year again. James and I are running another two courses on Writing Comedy For Radio and Writing TV Sitcom. You can find out more by checking back through this thread.

Also here: http://davecohen.squarespace.com/acade-me/

And here: http://sitcomgeek.blogspot.co.uk/2011/09/value-of-comedy-courses.html

Courses take place on Fridays 23 and 30 November.

Hi all, just to let you know we're almost full now for the radio comedy course, but there are still one or two places for the TV writing day.

All details here: http://davecohen.squarespace.com/acade-me/

Plus some comments about the course on pages 2-3 of this thread.

Thanks
Dave and James

We're back with another couple of dates. Other commitments tend to mean we can only run these once a year at the moment.

Writing for radio - 14 March
Writing sitcom - 21 March

There's a few comments about the courses on pages 2 and 3

Something wrong with your website, Dave. Clicking for course details leads to a page unknown notification.

Some wise words from Dave Cohen on our most recent blog here:

I hope he's not being paid by the word!

Only joking, less is more. And he did help write Not Going Out.

Last few places for How To Write Sitcom 21 March me and @sitcomgeek

I'm not generally a fan of writing courses, not that I've been on many. But I had been on one of Dave Cohen's before, so tried this. I didn't enjoy trying to write and perform a sketch as a group in 20 minutes, which my group certainly couldn't manage. But James Cary's enthusiasm and obvious love of comedy combined with Dave's slightly world-weary but insightful comments made for an interesting and helpful take on writing for radio.
