Great movie with Jack Lemmon and James Stewart.

Horrified at the footage of a policeman punching a shoplifter in the head and dragging her by her hair
What an absolutely discusting bully.
I don't know if he lost job but if he didn't that's disgusting.

According to the PC, the woman said she had Aids and bit him on the finger. If true, then she deserved to get her head punched in, if not, then it is disgusting bullying.

Hmmm, well that does change things a bit I suppose, but still should police be allowed to punch people under any circumstances? They just need to pin people down not keep smacking them.

I agree, in an ideal world, those in a position of authority should not be allowed to punch people. However, they are humans and not emotionless robots and will respond to a high degree of provocation.
Of course, in an ideal world, people wouldn't go nicking, claim they have Aids and physically assault the police.
You shouldn't really be punching someone smaller than you unless they are attacking you. She seemed to be lying on the floor. Not ideal police behaviour.
He seemed to be using the handcuffs as a sort of knuckle duster which is well bum.
That said in the states he'd have probably shot her.
Quote: sootyj @ 11th March 2014, 4:15 PM GMTnb to answer RCP's question no voice should be banned from the airwaves, that's censorship which is never right and the mark of a very weak society.
What about holocaust deniers?
They should be allowed their voice, they get far more mileage from being banned then they do by being heard.
Nick Broomfield did an excellent documentary on Leiter the guy who tried to disprove the Holocaust scientifically, David Irving similarly. In the end without any need for mockery he looked ridiculous.
Any one left convinced after that wouldn't be persuaded if you had a time machine.

I agree with you, but many on this forum wouldn't. They think it's perfectly okay to not only beat but also kill a woman, even if she hasn't committed a crime.
But that's animal rights people for you.
Quote: Renegade Carpark @ 12th March 2014, 8:31 PM GMTmany on this forum wouldn't.
How many is many?
Lol, I don't think there's anyone who has suggested they're a raving loony on here is there?
Well okay, maybe there are a few, but not regarding animal rights.
Someone has had his face reconsturcted by a 3d printer.
I think that's amazing.
I wish I could print myself a new face!

At least three, they're practically a mob, bordering on a hoard.

In fact, any time someone is mean to or kills an animal and it's picked up by the media, the calls for summary execution ring out across the BCG like the Twilight Bark from 101 Dalmatians.
It's funny how some criminal tart getting punched in the mush shocks some people to their cores, but a call for murder is almost de rigueur when the fuzzy, wuzzy, bwunnie wabbits are involved.
