Me too!

Maybe the plane is sitting at the bottom of the ocean, but is still water tight and they're still all alive? Yep.

It's just been found on an outer runway at Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

The soon to be closed forever online BBC3 is under fire for broadcasting a documentary about young female racists called 'EDL Angels'.

Apparently we're fine with Autistic Driving School, Baby Beauty Queens and Pissed and Pregnant, but this is a step to far.

Should extremists with unpopular views be censored from television? Let's ask -

Let the hypocritical debate about freedom of speech begin!

Looks like Bob Crowe's let go of the Dead Man's Handle.

The complaint in the Huff Post article was about the statement that EDL membership increased five-fold post the Lee Rigby murder. This was said in the voiceover as neutral narrative. I must admit that this set off my bullshit alarm.

Producers of documentaries do, in my view, have a duty to ensure that anything presented as fact by the documentary makers themselves is accurate.

They are not (as Matthew Collins seems to be suggesting) under a duty to challenge every view expressed.

The rest of the documentary contained the opinion of a small number of women. Their opinions were often massive over-generalisations, supported by anecdotal evidence at best. They do of course have every right to air them and we as the viewer have every right to reject them.

Dart is a dingus, who did the equivalent of appearing in Snog, Marry, Rob a bank to talk about his passion for robbing banks. He looked a dick and ended up being arrested.

As for EDL Angels the BBC cherry pick half a dozen, inarticulate members of the EDL and let them make racist statements which they don't challenge.

Thus simultaneously insulting 2 disenfranchised groups. It's this kind of bollocks, that's the reason not many people will miss BBC3.

The shows soul advantage was it wasn't as bad as the show about the EDL that Cherry Healey presented on the EDL. But then she's such an airhead she probably has to wear concrete boots.

The problem with documentary's such as this is that very often the people behind it have their own agenda's. It's also a fact that if they don't find anything contraversial they won't get it on the TV because they will have nothing new to say.

That's why I like Horizon and the like as they are set in fact not opinion. And I'm a geek Geek

Well said BBC3 has such a dreary obsession with emotion, controversy and bonking it might as well sell it's self too Take a Break.

RCTV?

nb to answer RCP's question no voice should be banned from the airwaves, that's censorship which is never right and the mark of a very weak society.
However broadcasters are obligated to question all voices equally, including those they feel sympathy with.
The EDL are so retrograde, that they can kill their own message perfectly well with out help.

I agree with this totally, BBC3 'documentaries' are hardly the most factually accurate or well researched bits of investigative journalism. Partly because the production companies involved get the work experience kids to do most of the filming to save money.

So the allegations about the 'five fold increase' is no different to anything I've seen on UK television about American gun ownership, recycling or cigarette smoking - hmm, I always seem to come back to the same subjects - it's like I'm obsessed.

I didn't watch EDL Angels because much like most of BBC3's output, I have no interest in what young chavs have to say about anything. But as sooty said, the EDL are more then well equipped to kill their own message.

As for fair and equal treatment of all viewpoints on the political spectrum, I'm constantly reminded about the Nick Griffin show trial on Question Time.

RCTV?

Cool

Well 2 things, one I've formed the bring back Albion Market club last week. I've got 5 people following my group on Twitter now, so I've got a 5 fold increase.

Secondly I am utterly sick of Labour and Conservative politicians slating the BNP and UKIP policies. As opposed to their own or their nearest competitor, because it's cheap and easy to go for fringe parties.

As for Nick Griffin, much as I hate the EDL, Tommy Robinson tearing apart newsnight presenters is TV gold.

Where is this plane? Seems to be a relatively small area (unlike the Air France disaster) and yet no sign.

By its very nature I suspect the Bermuda Triangle has moved.
