Arena: Whatever Happened To Spitting Image?

Theres a docmentry of this on the 20th of march. looks quite interesting.

I wondered why I've been seeing a few of their old puppets on TV recently.

There's a Spitting Image 30th anniversary exhibition at the Cartoon Museum in London, lots of the original puppets. Many attempts have been made to relaunch the show, but it's prohibitively expensive.

I think it had run its course when it finished. Very much an 80s institute built on mocking the Conservative government. Would it work today? Not sure, I think it would feel a little quaint in this digital age.

Many people felt that the scripts were the weak point of the show.

I was a kid when it was on, so just enjoyed seeing puppets swear.

God I remember watching the very last series of Spitting Image...

Painful

Absolutely painful

But the piles cream did the trick?

Plus there's a flucking law against it.

And the Thatcher puppet lol.

Love the show one of the best on the box at the time to my mind.
Would love to get DVD of it.
