Migraine?
I probably wouldn't eat this now, but.........umm, you never know.
I think comfort food should also in some circumstances be a solo affair where you can make a pig of yourself and get a bit messy, and one of the things I used to make when I was a devil-may-care teenager was a fry-up sandwich.
So, two slices of thick white bread with lashings of butter and in between build up the layers. Everything is fried in the finest dripping or lard by the way! No cholesterol busting oils here.
First, sliced lengthways fried chipolatas (they lay flatter than regular sausages) drizzled with HP sauce, then a layer of lightly fried bacon (repeat drizzle), then a fried egg, which you break the yolk of just before putting on top the other piece of bread. Add fried tomatoes or mushrooms to taste if you feel adventurous.
Then indulge............oooh, all that lovely fatty juice dripping down your chin and running down over your hands ..................now that's what I call finger lickin' good.
Now where's me frying pan............
