A Song for Madeleine Page 4

Southpark has also done much nastier stuff, this pales before the episode where Butters parents murder him, and his parents join a support group for murderous parents.

I love the way South Park does dark stuff, but this example isn't comparable. The McCanns, whatever you think of them, are real people and their daughter is probably dead. Butters and family are made up.

It just annoys me Sooty that I have to explain myself for leaving a critique. Like I am not allowed my own opinion. I am starting to think that some BSG's on here are really my dad, in disguise Laughing out loud

Do you know what time it is?

Then maybe a good idea would be for FoxyLoxy to change the names.

Laughing out loud

Look in your heart you know it's true, Charley I am your father.

Personally I stick with critiquing what people say, and post, and only that.

Comedy and value systems gets pretty dull, pretty fast.

I think it depends on the gag anyway. I quite liked the Bremner Bird and Fortune Maddie gag that got a lot of complaints, but the target was the media. Like Brass Eye's paedo special, it didn't mock the victim.

Anyway, I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

I missed the Bremne gag.
I enjoyed the Brass Eye one though.

That would be true, but this episode was based on several real cases in the States, it really pushed the limit. It included that 6 year old beauty queen, and did a close up on their faces, whilst another character said,

"Don't you just wish those bastards would confess?"

Very, very dark, but as ever with Southpark laser guided accurate.

I'd stand corrected if I wasn't sitting down. Hang on though...

Ok! Here we go. Charley left a reasonable comment & is going to end up attacked for it. This is the bit that made me laugh IN A CRINGEY WAY!!!!!!!!

AUDIENCE MEMBER (PLANT):
She’s behi-i-i-i-nd yo-o-o-o-o-u!

There. Now I will sit here & await you telling me what a Bitch I am for finding that CRINGEY FUNNY!

not at all - you could tell me you took the kid yourself, i don't give a toss.

i was genuinely interested in what you found funny. i am all for using anything as comedy....if its funny.

i saw jimmmy carr recently and half way through he asked the audience if we had any questions for him after a few people had shouted out "how old are you" and "when are you on TV next"....some drunk yells out "wheres Madeline", got the biggest laugh of the night.

I find that a funny use of the child in comedy....i don't find "shes got a wonky eye" as being funny at all and cant imagine anyone would?

I enjoyed the Brass Eye one though.

Perfect example. Brass Eye didn't mock a single paedo victim, not in the slightest. They may have felt used to mock others but they weren't the target.

To mock parents who are trying to find their kid is a lot different to that and anyone who thinks they are similar has missed the point somewhat.

To mock parents who are trying to find their kid is . . .

Completely unacceptable?

I agree.

And I'd never do it.

The whole idea is moronic tenth rate shyte that you would expect a thick kid to dream up.

Utterly wankerish, sorry.

I don't agree but if you really want to see moronic tenth rate shyte that you'd expect a thick kid to dream up, you won't have to wander far from this thread.

Would you like links?

No I don't think so I've had enough, I have been waiting for something funny to be posted anywhere on here, some links to that would be a refreshing change from banal playground humour.

I think I shall retreat to another forum where grownups live and well writen humour thrives

Goodbye children.

writeone1 why are you having a go at everyone on the board I don't think that's entirely fair.
