I read the news today oh boy! Page 1,456

What awful prejudice these people demonstrate, in demonising Ross for what they fear he'd say. He's not Abu Hamza.

Wish I could do Photoshop so's I could do an Abu Hamster with a hook for a paw, one eye missing and wearing a little round hat!

BBC 3 to become an online channel only -

When it first launched, I quite enjoyed it, there's was always lots of good new things to see. In the last few years it's become a televisual garbage bin who's highest ratings have come from American cartoons.

Aside from a recent documentary about Afghanistan, that was so good it could have easily been shown on BBC2 / BBC4, I can't think of a single programme I'd miss.

Goodbye and good riddance.

Because I'm a lazy bastard, I'm reposting my latest Facebook rant on here -

http://www.newstatesman.com/culture/2014/03/jonathan-ross-and-hugo-awards-why-was-he-forced-out-science-fictions-self-appointed

Jonathan Ross has had to step down as host of the Hugos (...)

My views of Jonathan Ross will always be coloured by waiting several hours for him to present an award at UCL about fifteen years ago and him not turning up.

He's an avuncular guy and his wife has got massive tits but I really don't see any reason why he should be giving out the Hugo award.

Unless it's become degraded in the last few years the hugo award was a serious award for sf writing, not fantasy or comix or manga or any other low-brow shit. He's not a writer or a scientist or an intellectual.

He can't even pronounce any of those words.

Isn't that the point, you don't even know what's happening anymore with the Hugos because it's such an underreported niche ridden little sewing circle.

Getting a big name on board, with links to British science fiction, willing to present the awards for free because he is such a big fan would have raised their profile in the mainstream.

Their profile has been raised though, from a well respected awards ceremony to a bunch of infighting, petty, nerds afraid of their own shadows.

The main thing I think Seanan McGuire should be worried about, when she says that MULTIPLE PEOPLE have said that Jonathon Ross will call her fat, is the kind of people she is currently hanging round with.

Excellent programme on BBC4 tonight at 8pm - Bombay Railway (1/2) No need to be particularly interested in railways. It's a fascinating look at day to day life in a large Indian city. Recommended.

Her name is Seanan - which could be an oceanic grandmother or the network that fired Piers Morgan.

or what your mum tells you to do, because your nan loves you.
