Yeah I'm hoping that's the case
But Splodge gaining 70 points on me in two weeks makes you realise that things can change quick & you're never safe until it's mathematically impossible
which it can never be in this comp until the last game.
Does anyone remember how much Gerry won by last season?
If I remember rightly Godot said he would have caught him if the season had gone on for a bit longer.
Maybe if it went on for five years. I actually said I would never have caught him - it was Percival Marsh who was in second who I was gaining on steadily.
Gerry played consistently well and I only chipped little bits off his lead and he always came back. His lead was in the region of 200pts.
Don is right I think, you can't be caught, unless you play very riskily (or lose the phone number of the bloke giving you the tips ) This week is a good example: as one of the few players to captain Suarez I gained a lot more points than those with Sturridge or Addy, but those players had either Gerard and Hazard or both so it didn't really help. You didn't captain Suarez but you didn't sell him and the fifteen points together with Hazard's ten meant I only gained 5 over you when I needed 15 per week to pass you.
A situation like the Suarez/Addy one doesn't happen very often so you can see there's not much chance. The funny thing is at the end of last season I recognised that it was important to stop the gaps getting too wide mid season, but I couldn't stop it happening.
You made big leaps on GW5, 9, 10 and 11. Some of that was fortuitous - you had 16pts for Baines in GW5 that no-one was expecting and Brady subbed on in place of Van Persie for 12pts, but other times you played really well. Your form is slipping a bit now but I think you've done enough.
Incidentally I would be in third place if you add in the 32pts I got deducted f**king up my wildcard, and I would say that I am still more of a threat to you than Splodge.
