Doesn't seem like a class 1 head butt no, more a head push. Still very provocative tho. And technically assault. Worst of all it was being televised and millions of kids watch MOTD. Why should he be free to do throw his weight around just because he's top dog at a top club? On ex players making a media storm out of it, aren't they qualified to? They've possibly been victim to and have definitely seen their managers treat people with abuse and violence.
Football's got way above it itself. If your boss shoved his head in your face because he didn't like what you did, you'd have him arrested for assault. Yet these out of control egos have been getting away with it for years. Pardew is one of the most arrogant and reckless egos in football, and he's probably done his career in now, which would be poetic justice.
Pardew isn't the Hull fella's boss though. Also, the Hull fella barged AP out of the way to initiate the altercation.
It was basically the equivalent of a squaring-off in the street, which didn't lead to anything. No charges would have likely been filed had the same incident happened outside of football.
Now, if Pardew had legit nutted the Hull fella, and then kicked the shit out of him as he lay motionless on the ground, that might be a different story.
Can't believe I'm standing up for a twat like Pardew, but in this case I can't see the huge deal. If you don't want problems with people, don't barge them out of the way.
