Can't believe all the fuss over Pardue?!?

Sure it was daft

But it wasn't THAT bad ffs

Why does football have to be so damn serious these days

Couldn't agree more. Seems people want him executed. A player would get a 3 match ban max and nothing more. Muppets like Savage prefer to talk up incidents like this so they can shoot their mouths off about controversy. It means they talk less about the game and helps cover up that they know bugger all about football.

One word: Borini.

:D

I actually found the Suarez bite funny. None of this shit risk's anyone's health in any meaningful way (unless Suarez is rabid).

Still, Pardew is a complete twat, so the furore is kinda OK in this case.

Doesn't seem like a class 1 head butt no, more a head push. Still very provocative tho. And technically assault. Worst of all it was being televised and millions of kids watch MOTD. Why should he be free to do throw his weight around just because he's top dog at a top club? On ex players making a media storm out of it, aren't they qualified to? They've possibly been victim to and have definitely seen their managers treat people with abuse and violence.

Football's got way above it itself. If your boss shoved his head in your face because he didn't like what you did, you'd have him arrested for assault. Yet these out of control egos have been getting away with it for years. Pardew is one of the most arrogant and reckless egos in football, and he's probably done his career in now, which would be his own fault.

Pardew isn't the Hull fella's boss though. Also, the Hull fella barged AP out of the way to initiate the altercation.

It was basically the equivalent of a squaring-off in the street, which didn't lead to anything. No charges would have likely been filed had the same incident happened outside of football.

Now, if Pardew had legit nutted the Hull fella, and then kicked the shit out of him as he lay motionless on the ground, that might be a different story.

Can't believe I'm standing up for a twat like Pardew, but in this case I can't see the huge deal. If you don't want problems with people, don't barge them out of the way.

Haven't seen the *headbutt* yet. Butt...

I feel some sympathy for Pardew in respect of the huge pressure and stress he's been under. After all, the meeja were reporting that he was only one game away from the sack when Newcastle got their v late winner against Villa. He lost his best player and orchestrator, Cabaye, at the end of the window. Remy was suspended for 3 games for the mildest of headbutts after provocation. He had the Joe Kinnear fiasco/nonsense till recently. Lots of injuries to key players. And as a Cockney, he'll never be totally accepted by the Geordies, however well he does. He's actually built a team that plays attractive football with lots of skilful players, with fairly meagre resources and dwindling support from Ashley.

With all that in mind, it's not that surprising that his frustration came to the boil again.

Steve Bruce sounded sympathetic too.

But he has a duty of conduct that you and me don't have. He has to show reasonable behaviour on a televised match, part of his contract. He didn't give this a second thought here, he just let his over powered ego loose.

The other guy wasn't his player but was still a mere player, clearly a factor in this idiot's response - he thinks his hierarchy gives him the right to abuse him. Just like hundreds of other egomaniacs from Fergie to Fry thought.

It's more about acute stress, isn't it, than ego? It makes people act unreasonably.

The first one who goes 'hands on' is to blame. There was no need to push Pardew out of the way physically. Now he's going to be out of pocket £100,000 for the incident, none of which was his fault.

Indeed. No barge from Hull man and there's no incident. And Steve Bruce would've had to answer questions about how his side got tonked 4-1 at home rather than ones about the opposition manager.

Shouldn't do when you're 3-1 up, the guy has ego problems, pretty well known about as well. The clue is in none of the ex player pundits backing him. They even backed Fergie's excesses.

Not for Pardew's reaction he isn't. For barging him away to get the ball, yes. And he got yellow carded. The reaction is purely Pardew's fault.

Shouldn't do when you're 3-1 up

There were still 20 mins to go, and in the reverse fixture at St James' in Sept, Hull came back from 2-1 down to win 3-2.

And with acute stress which has built up over weeks/months, you do over-react. There's that scene in that Michael Douglas movie, Falling Down, where he goes apeshit because they won't serve him breakfast at a MacDonalds type establishment because it's few minutes past their breakfast period.

Nice turn of phrase I thought . . .

If we (QPR) don't get promoted this season, it would have to be one of the most talented squads to have failed to do so.

F**k knows how much money we have tied up in wages (etc.), but TF seems to be betting the farm on getting re-promoted during the parachute period.

Leicester are gone. Burnley starting to pull-away again. Not looking good.

Used to have a soft spot for QPR but while they have Barton playing for them and that prima donna Morrison I hope they get relegated.

If I headbutted someone at work I'd get sacked. Apparently, though, it's ok as Pardew did it in the heat of battle according to Alan Brazil.
