Intrigued by Horseradish's demise, I found the "offending" thread (the seemingly aborted Nostalgia Game started by George Roper) and it certainly made for fascinating reading! I only wish I had come back to this forum some month earlier, because it highlighted a concern of mine that there IS a clique operating within the forum, although understandably "the clique" would deny this, and they are the long standing members who noticeably guffaw at each other's postings but seem to disdain anything from newer members.
A classic and disturbing post was recently in the Funny Pictures where George Roper posted some crap American so called funnies, and one in particular that had a word in it that I was shocked to see in a forum of this quality where, I presume, children could view this filth. "Tickle this M***********". It wasn't funny and was unnecessary, and I am very surprised that the moderators allowed it to stand.
I am far from it being a prude and can tell many a filthy joke as well as the next man - in the appropriate company, BUT this is a disgusting word that has no place in a British forum.
I belong to quite a few forums and even the use of the F word is frowned upon, and to make matters worse (encouraging this sort of "humour"?) another member posted that it was "sheer class".......oh dear.
But hey, and to come back to my original point - its good old George! Oh, that's OK then. Not that I would ever dream of posting something as dire as this - I bet it would not have received such adulation if it had been me, a relatively newbie, that had posted the same thing.
