Sending off a script

Hi,

Have written a script, synopsis etc, and now is the time to send off for review. Other than BBC writers room and a few competitions coming up, I was going to send to some select production companies. I have drawn up the shortlist below but am unclear whether they are the best options. Does anyone have an inside track on best options, and if any of the below are a good options, especially for a fledgling scriptwriter?

Channel 4 doesn't make its own programmes.

I think Avalon might still accept unsolicited submissions, but the rest on that list have closed their doors and will only accept scripts via agents.

Also, it says under your avatar you live in Australia. BBC Writersroom only accept scripts these days from UK writers.

I am temporarily in aus but have a writing partner in uk. coming home later in the year.

Production companies who accept unagented submissions are very thin on the ground, mainly because they got fed up with the tidal wave of dross they'd receive daily.

Various incarnations of the question, "Who accepts unsolicited scripts these days?" has been asked umpteen times on these boards and the answer is usually, "Nobody is likely to give away titbits of info that they've worked hard to accumulate or he contacts they've made," or simply the succinct, "Google is your friend."

I believe OFAH writer John Sullivan got his initial break by hanging out with BBC Producers & Directors in a well known London drinking establishment. They all assumed he was in the industry and then he got someone to look at his spec script which turned into Citizen Smith...of course this would be called stalking today...

Although I am sure I read the above - there is of course a possibility that I just dreamt it.

Be careful, I thought Google was my friend, but then I found out Google was searching for other people behind my back...

I tried Facebook, but Facebook just told everyone all about me...

Twitter exposed even my tiniest thoughts to public ridicule...

Linkedin wanted to choose all my friends for me...

I am now in a semi-relationship with the BCG, but can't shake the feeling that something funny might be going on...
