This week appears to have proved that English teams still have a lot of ground to make up on Europe's very best. Chelsea and Man Utd have easier games next week, but I think they'll both struggle about teams like Barca and Bayern. It all seems a far cry from that glorious period in the mid to late 00s where we had a team in every final.

Feck!
From the BBC website . .
Arsenal had 12% possession in the second half, completing just 62 passes to Bayern's 508. There is only one result when you're up against a barrage like that.
And why does the media seem to think that all of England should get behind an English team?
Are the fans of Tottenham crying into their beers tonight?
10 man Manchester City lose 2-0 at home to Barcelona.
10 man Arsenal lose 2-0 at home to Bayern Munich.
F**k! I bet the only English team to go through will be those arseholes from Old Trashford!

Bad results against the two best club teams in the world, but by no means the end of the world. Arsenal lost both Gibbs and Szcznesy during the match and started without Ramsey and Walcott.
Obviously if Ozil had put his penalty away it would have been a different match, but thems the breaks. It could have been a lot, lot worse.
All four away wins, and fairly comfortable ones at that.

Those are some scary statistics. Unless you're a Munich fan.

Chelsea can handle that sort of thing. Remember their Champions League triumph.
If there's one British team who can beat Barcelona or Bayern
Then it's boring boring Chelsea

Stupid Austrians...with their stupid dingos and kangaroos.
Didn't Austria invent Red Bull?
Or was that just something they told me to show off.
Bloody Austrians.

Some clever Austrian stole the RB formula from Japan I think.
Anyway, Since Red Bull is the sponsor Salzburg dominates the Austrian leaugue. They didn't qualify for the Champions League yet but had some good moments in the EL.
