Writing ideas for creative production

Hello all,

New to this so please go easy, producing a comedy DVD for the benefit of a local charity and assembled an amateur team of cast and crew, been going well - on the second DVD now and will be hoping to utitilise a sketch of the following synopsis;

"SUPERZEROES"

Characters involved: Spiderman, Superman

Plot: A series of short sketches showing superheroes failing or being generally useless at some basic tasks

Example 1: Spiderman looks to hold up traffic to allow pedestrians to cross the road, despite it being a red light anyway.

Example 2: Actor drops a bag of shopping in the street, both superheroes are running to help from either end of the high street, as they both eventually get there, the actor simply picks up the bag and walks on as they did not need any help. Both superheroes have a petty altercation.

The ideas here are incredibly raw, and I am sure comparable to a professional comedy production they are horrendous, but any advice on unique filming ideas or sketch possibilities for "hopeless superheroes" would be greatly received.

Thanks all,

Adam

You could have Batman and Robin posing as mechanics and Robin's ideas being sensible while Batman's are outrageously stupid. When things go wrong, Batman blames Robin.

Just a thought

Thanks for that idea, It's a classic switch in the story, we are limited by the outfits we have though which is Superman and Spiderman, there are a few obvious ones but I think the more obvious they are, the worse they're gonna look!

Spiderman helping remove unwanted spiders, but being scared of them?

spiderman having a bath (in costume) and getting stuck in the tub

Spiderman marries, and his wife eats him.

This is one of our existing ideas, tricky one making it look good on screen but hopefully we'll make it work, thanks for your idea! :)

Spiderman marries, and his wife eats him.

This is actually quite good a good idea.

Better than my idea of having a city-wide bat-cull (rabies, I guess), and Batman being unable to convince the authorities that he's not actually a bat.

Sure this was done on TV in the 80s - I think it may have been Kenny Everet...

If you can get a Batman costume how about having Batman living in someone's loft and because of wildlife preservation laws the people who own the house aren't able to evict him?

Bit messy, though.

Someone cries for help, Clark Kent and Peter Parker run into the same phone box to change. In their rush to be the first to get changed they somehow manage to put each other's costume on.
As they leave the phone box Spiderman runs straight into a wall - his web shooters are in his own costume which Superman is wearing. Superman helpfully interlocks his fingers and gives Spidey a bunk up, cue Wile E Coyote sound effect as Spiderman goes stratospheric. What goes up...

We see Superman in a queue for a phone box. The queue goes down and Superman enters and takes off his costume. As he leaves we see he is now dressed as Spiderman (might work better as Wonderwoman?).

Superman does his whole flying around Earth going back in time to save the world thing. Afterwards he flies back towards the present but he crashes into himself flying towards the past.
Neither Superman wants to move aside, as they jostle a third Superman crashes into them - he's from further in the future and is going back in time to fix a different disaster.
This is repeated several times, each subsequent Superman is going back for more and more trivial reasons, the last one because he forgot to cancel the papers before going off on his hols or something sillier.
