Not sure whether to put this in the pop/rock or what are you drinking threads.

Status Quo are re-releasing their Piledriver album and to commemorate Wychwood are producing a Piledriver beer.

I love Trooper!

Found this very cheap today. The tracklist indicates that they play songs from every incarnation (Jeff. Airplane, Jeff. Starship and Starship). I'm wondering how they sound these days (I'm going to find out tonight).

Any thoughts on the remastered American albums by the Beatles?

(Un-)Necessary?

Of course targeted at the diehards and completionists. I won't buy them for sure but I was wondering if British fans had a different opinion on this.

It was a gag.

Rock n roll is a serious matter. ;)

Tom Jones and Cliff Richard are supporting Morrissey for some US dates. I think they may be some of the strangest lineups ever. I'd love to go though. What a gig to be at.

Tom Jones died the day he joined a talent show jury. Period.

:D Lordy-- imagine a Cliff/Morrissey duet singing 'Living doll'?!!.... would def' pay for that!

Were they any good? I saw a Starship line up about 5 years ago and it was a good show.

Vocally not a revelation, the male voices sound as if they're coming from old men (which they do, of course), a young woman apes Grace Slick...but very entertaining and well played.

Amazing what bargains you can get at Charity Shops.

Just got a Promo 7 track sampler of the Buena Vista Social Club for 80p - some fantastic stuff on there - plus ex:el by 808 State. Some lovely stuff on there - especially Bjork and Bernard Sumner guesting. It's a double with remixes for £1.20.

CD bargains are easier to find now, but vinyl's become a lot harder - more expensive, and less to choose from - unless you like Simply Red and the other 80s bands that always turn up, in which case you're golden.

Devo's Bob Casale has died. :(

Just saw that.

Also only just found out Dave Higgs of Eddie and the Hot Rods died in December.
