Last year, in a wave of nostalgia, I bought Vesta Paella fron Amazon. It was tasteless crap. However, nothing daunted, I intend to buy Beef Biryani some time if they have it.

In those days, I also liked Wimpys and KFC, so my taste buds weren't all that fussy.

I just felt a sense of accomplishment when I cooked a Vesta meal by myself. :)

Wasn't vesta just dried soya and nasty flavourings.

A typo there, sooty - you meant to say tasty, surely?

They were nastier then getting invited to a valentines hot tub party with Eric Pickles and Jackie Smith

Berry flavoured skittles.

Sick Sick Sick

Currently roasting a fore rib of beef which smells delicious. It's going to be shredded up and put in with a cream, mushroom and marsala sauce atop some pasta.

Must say, pasta is the most overestimated shite I've come across. Totally tasteless.

Try adding a sauce to it, specifically a pasta sauce.

Then you haven't had the good stuff.

I don't eat it very often, but there's a Sicilian cafe near me opened recently.

Not actually that expensive.

But man the beetroot raviloi tastes like an Angel or Ben himself cooked it.

I add rice sauce to mine.

Uncle Ben's ain't telling ME WHAT I CAN PUT ON MY FUCKING PASTA!

I don't think anyone claims that plain pasta is a culinary treat. The pasta is more to add bite and texture. It's what you put with it that makes it a carby taste sensation.

Sooo - basically you're all agreeing it's shite. It's the other ingredients that have the taste. So why bother with the pasta?

Keewik is there anything you eat, I'm starting to suspect you might be anorexic.

You wouldn't think that if you saw me! Well tonight's meal .... Vegetable spring rolls followed by prawns with onion and red pepper with rice - a recipe from A Chinese cookery book.

Also involved red wine.

Caramac....
